Recognised by the High Sheriff of Cumbria: Continuing Our Support for Families โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ™

We are incredibly honoured to have received an award from the High Sheriff of Cumbria in recognition of our work supporting families affected by the justice system.

This award reflects the reality faced by many families when a loved one is arrested or sent to prisonโ€”an experience that can be sudden, overwhelming, and deeply isolating.

From the moment of arrest, families are often left trying to navigate complex systems, emotional strain, and social stigma, frequently without the support they need.

Our organisation exists to ensure that families do not face this journey alone. We provide support, advocacy, and safe spaces where families can feel heard, understood, and supported throughout every stage of the process.

Our founder, Emma Wells accepted the award on behalf of Unseen Victims CIC. Speaking after the event she said,

We are absolutely delighted to have been selected to receive this award this year. It means a great deal to have the High Sheriff recognise the often-overlooked impact that crime has on indirect victims, and the importance of supporting those whose lives are affected beyond the immediate incident. This recognition reinforces our commitment to continuing our work in raising awareness and providing support to those who are too often unseen

Being recognised by the High Sheriff of Cumbria highlights the wider impact that the justice system has on families and reinforces the importance of compassionate, accessible support.

This recognition strengthens our commitment to continue our workโ€”supporting families, challenging stigma, and creating meaningful change so that no family feels isolated or overlooked.
